The administration of US president Trump is set to impose an additional 25-percent tariff on imports of all medium and heavy-duty trucks from November.

The plan was announced by Trump on his social-media feed on Monday. Washington already has a basic tariff of 25 percent on truck imports, so the new one would bring the total to 50 percent.
