In the process of assisting the international community in eradicating extreme poverty by 2030, China is playing an increasingly important role.
Since implementing reform and opening-up in the late 1970s, China has lifted as many as 400 million people out of poverty. Over the next five years, China will provide assistance to other developing countries in poverty reduction, education development, agricultural modernization, environmental protection, and healthcare, among other areas.
China has made remarkable progress in poverty reduction and has made unremitting efforts to promote economic growth, which will encourage other impoverished countries to tackle the challenges in their own development. When seeking development paths with their own characteristics, these countries can draw on China's experience.
