Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met Israeli president Shimon Peres in Jerusalem. The two leaders discussed the Iranian nuclear issue.
Wang called on all sides involved in the nuclear talks last month to comply with their obligations and responsibilities, in order for peace to prevail in the region.
"I’ve told President Peres that the joint efforts of the various parties, the P5+1 and Iran, have helped reach an important preliminary agreement, marking the first step towards the settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue. What is important is for all parties concerned, including Iran, to fully comply with their respective obligations and responsibilities outlined in this deal, and for all the parties to work together to uphold the international non-proliferation regime, to promote peace in the Middle East region," he said
